Roblox Fan Takes Legal Action: The Controversy Surrounding “Million Dollar” Banned Accounts

  • A Roblox player named Jared Valdez has threatened legal action against the company, asserting that his accounts, banned when he was 12 years old, are now valued at “over a million dollars.”
  • Valdez sent a formal notice to Roblox CEO David Baszucki via Twitter this week, warning of potential legal action if his most valuable account is not restored.
  • Regrettably, Roblox prohibits the exchange of limited items for actual currency, rendering Valdez’s assertions improbable and any legal recourse futile.

Roblox has the potential to make a small number of its players wealthy. Roblox has faced allegations in the past of exploiting its users by enticing children with the promise of earning money, an accusation that the company vehemently denies. Despite this, it is still achievable to generate a significant income through the Roblox Developer Exchange Program. This program allows players to exchange Robux for actual currency.

Robux can be earned in a number of ways, such as through selling avatar items on the Marketplace, and these items can be very expensive and lucrative depending on their availability. That’s why a Roblox player is threatening to sue the company over his accounts that were banned when he was 12 years old, claiming the value of these accounts is now “well over a million dollars.”

Earlier this week, a Roblox player named Jared Valdez took to Twitter to issue a “formal notice” to Roblox CEO David Baszucki. In the notice, Valdez threatened legal action if his account ‘Jaredvaldez4’ is not reinstated. Valdez asserts that his accounts from when he was 12 years old, along with others, currently have a total value exceeding one million dollars and an RAP value slightly above 7 million.

If you have been a long-time fan of Roblox, you may recall the name Jared Valdez. He was a notorious figure within the Roblox community a few years back, to the extent that he had his own wiki page, being accused of plagiarizing several well-known levels. His accounts were banned by Roblox for a variety of violations, including repurposing content for external websites and engaging in the exchange of limited items for real money.

Valdez is unlikely to receive a response from Roblox or Baszucki, thus any legal action is likely to fail. Valdez likely violated the game’s Terms of Service numerous times to result in multiple account bans, and his confirmed plagiarism of Roblox levels will further undermine his credibility.

Regarding his assertion that his accounts are valued at “over a million dollars,” it has been noted by several individuals that the majority of the account’s worth consists of limited items which cannot be readily exchanged for actual money. Roblox prohibits the exchange of Robux for actual currency generated through the sale of limited items, rendering this undertaking futile from the start. Valdez will likely continue with their efforts despite the obstacle.
