The upcoming release of Magic: The Gathering’s Duskmourn: House of Horror is scheduled for the end of this month, coinciding perfectly with the onset of the Halloween season and the accompanying array of terrifying spirits and creatures. It is evident that Duskmourn draws significant inspiration from horror themes prevalent in the 1980s to the early 2000s, and several new Secret Lairs set to debut at the month’s conclusion will further explore this theme.
Wizards of the Coast initiated the excitement last week by unveiling two Ghostbusters-themed Secret Lairs. The first highlights the infamous green slime creature, Slimer, while the second is inspired by The Real Ghostbusters animated series. However, there exists a vast array of horror icons that could serve as inspiration for additional Secret Lairs, with Chucky standing out as one of the most recognizable figures in the genre.
Initially disclosed by IGN, Wizards of the Coast has officially announced the upcoming release of a Chucky Secret Lair, which will be launched concurrently with the Ghostbusters Secret Lairs at the month’s conclusion. Similar to the Ghostbusters collections, this Secret Lair will feature five Chucky-themed variants of pre-existing cards from Magic: The Gathering, in addition to a double-sided card representing the infamous doll.

The cards featured in this collection include a double-sided Chucky represented as Kardur, Doomscourge, alongside Tiffany, Bride of Chucky (Varragoth, Bloodsky Sire); Friends to the End (Twinflame); Play Pals Factory (Genesis Chamber); and the final card, Sorry, Jack… Chucky’s Back (Phyrexian Reclamation).
Similar to the recently unveiled Ghostbusters sets, the Chucky Secret Lair will be available for purchase on the official Magic: The Gathering website starting September 30. It may require considerable skill in navigating the website to secure all the Secret Lairs before they are snatched up by other eager fans and potential scalpers. Additionally, there remains ample time before the release of these Secret Lairs, leaving room for speculation about what further surprises Wizards of the Coast may have in store.
