Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has officially launched and is delighting fans, becoming the most played Warhammer game on Steam. This popularity can be attributed to its engaging and gory gameplay, an excellent campaign, and its overall polish. Nevertheless, it seems that even the most meticulously developed games can harbor a few troublesome bugs. In the case of Space Marine 2, the term “bug” is applicable in more than one context.
Players of Space Marine 2 have a singular refuge in the battle barge, a location they return to after completing missions or engaging in multiplayer games, allowing them a moment of respite. Regrettably, this sanctuary appears to have been compromised by the Tyranids, as some players inadvertently bring these creatures back with them following their missions.
One unfortunate marine, Reddit user Martinswesley9, shared a video depicting their experience of being overwhelmed by four Tyranids. In the footage, Martinswesley9 is seen being drenched in Tyranid saliva, rendered helpless as there is no means to defend oneself within the confines of the battle barge.
Space Marine 2 Bug Continues to Bring Tyranids to the Battle Barge
This issue is not isolated to Martinswesley9. A YouTube user known as ImmersionAndy also encountered an invasion of their serene battle barge, albeit by a solitary Tyranid. However, ImmersionAndy would have preferred facing four smaller Tyranids, as a more formidable Lictor managed to infiltrate his battle barge.
In ImmersionAndy’s video, the Lictor is seen stealthily approaching the player, passing by several Space Marines who remain surprisingly indifferent. ImmersionAndy attempts to escape to the dock, only to find their path obstructed by the Lictor, which then proceeds to inflict severe damage. Once again, due to the inability to engage in combat on the battle barge, ImmersionAndy ultimately meets their demise, while the Lictor vanishes into the ceiling. It seems the Emperor may require the services of an exterminator.
This situation appears to be a rather amusing glitch, as Martinswesley9 noted that the Tyranids followed them back to the battle barge after they exited a trial prematurely. It is likely that this issue will be addressed promptly; otherwise, numerous Space Marines may find themselves facing untimely ends before they even enter the fray.
